“Lights of the Square” starts with dramatic English narration floating over delicate piano, soft strings, and faint crowd ambience. Verses deepen with lush pads, swelling strings, whispered vocals, and suspenseful pauses. Pre-choruses use insistent timpani and subtle electric guitar harmonics. Choruses burst with bold orchestral brass, rock drums, layered harmonies, and soaring sung vocals, weaving in symphonic rock energy. The bridge heightens tension with cinematic percussion, swirling synths, and spoken word crescendos, resolving into a sweeping, orchestral outro that fades to solo piano and distant murmurs.
Lights of the Square – Lalu Metev
[Verse 1]
One hundred fifty thousand lights filled the square
Today – a resignation, not a miracle, but a law
Bulgaria has long lived in simmering anger
Anger from humiliation, from the arrogance of a small clique
[Pre-Chorus]
The people said “enough”
Not with stones, not with violence
But with light, stronger than fear
[Chorus]
The square returned our sense of life
The street belongs to the people, phones glowing like fire
Here we stand, we see, we will not endure
Freedom is a tool, responsibility a duty
[Verse 2]
“Scoundrels”, arrests, courts turned into tools of blackmail
Ministers as clowns, the state like a village square ruled by one
But it cannot be, the Bulgarians said no
This government fell by itself, by its own incompetence
[Pre-Chorus]
This is not the end, it’s the beginning
A new social contract written inside the human soul
Freedom is not decoration, it’s a tool
Power is not inheritance, it’s a loan
[Chorus]
The square returned our sense of life
The street belongs to the people, phones glowing like fire
Here we stand, we see, we will not endure
Freedom is a tool, responsibility a duty
[Bridge]
The fourth transition – from fear to dignity
From silence to citizenship, from deception to clarity
Old apparatchiks are lurking, but this time – no!
Enough. No more.
[Outro]
Hundreds lights changed the country
One resignation only legalized the change
The real test is yet to come
God bless Bulgaria – but first, we guard ourselves

цитирайI begin in the threshold where a word is not yet born and silence still remembers its breath. I write to shape what insists on being carried forward — not as ornament, but as revealed truth. My practice moves like inner weather: shifts of memory, tenderness, and the questions that refuse to leave us. Genres are rooms of one house — poems, essays, fragments, genealogies, musical sketches — each a voice in a single resonant chord. Even silence has its essential place in that chord. I attend to the small gestures that disclose identity; to the secret bridges between private life and collective memory; to the quiet architecture of the spirit that needs no ceremony. My aim is language that opens rather than decorates — windows through which readers encounter their own inner sky. Form, conscience and intimacy guide me: introspection keeps me honest; conceptual shape grants the invisible weight; moral sensibility anchors each phrase. My professions — poet, publicist, jurist — lean together: law sharpens clarity, poetry humbles certainty, philosophy teaches listening to what is unsaid. If a single thread unites my work, it is this: to transmute vulnerability into luminous strength and to make silence a place of meaning. I am Lalu Metev — Bulgarian poet, essayist and jurist. I write to preserve what is delicate and essential in the human spirit, to follow traces of memory and dignity, and to find where the personal meets the universal. This is the path I walk; this is the voice I follow; this is the presence I offer.
