От „chasing every ‘should’ instead of every ‘will“ до „I’ll wear the weather, but keep my neon heart“ песента проследява пътя от страх и вкопчване към тихо, зряло „да“ на промяната.

Wearing the Weather (Neon Heart) by Lalu Metev
Lyrics – Late Night Urban Jazz Lounge

Verse 1

Night folds the city in a velvet sigh,
rain writes its secrets on the glass outside.
Clocks keep moving, but we stand still,
chasing every “should” instead of every “will”.
We dress our fears in yesterday’s regrets,
try to repaint the sky with cigarettes.
But time just leans against the door,
whispering softly: you don’t need to fight me anymore.

Verse 2

We try to bend the rivers of the years,
to hold the moon, to silence all our fears.
We curse the wind for changing every street,
then blame ourselves when we retreat.
But seasons never ask for our consent,
they bloom and fade, then leave without a scent.
The more we cling, the more it slips away,
like trying to hold a shadow in the middle of the day.

Pre-Chorus 1

So let the storm be storm, the tide be tide,
you don’t have to fix the turning of the sky.
Just turn your collar to the shifting air,
and keep your quiet center there.

Chorus 1

I’ll wear the weather, but keep my soul intact,
let every passing moment leave without a pact.
Change is the only promise written in the night,
I’ll walk through every ending with my inner light.
I don’t command the currents or the things they take away,
but I can choose the shape of who I am today.

Verse 3

Old echoes rise from photographs and dust,
we build our altars out of rusted trust.
We hold the past like it can make us whole,
afraid to let it go, afraid to take control.
But every streetlight flickers out in time,
and every broken rhythm finds a different rhyme.
The grace is not in keeping things the same,
it’s learning how to dance inside a moving frame.

Pre-Chorus 2

So let the night be night, the dawn be late,
you don’t have to wrestle with the hands of fate.
Just zip your heart against the shifting cold,
and guard the place that never fully grows old.

Chorus 2

I’ll wear the weather, but guard my secret core,
let winds redraw the skyline, I’ll remain the shore.
Change is the quiet law that hums beneath our skin,
yet deep inside the turning, I can choose who I’ve been.
I won’t outrun the seasons or the falling of the night,
I’ll simply keep becoming – and call it staying alive.

Bridge

Heraclitus in the hallway writes in embers on the wall:
nothing stays forever in this slow, unfolding fall.
Kennedy in whispers says: don’t stare at what has passed,
the road is drawn ahead of you, the future’s never last.
And Hawking hums in stardust: those who bend, survive,
the universe expands for hearts that dare to stay alive.

Final Chorus

So I’ll wear the weather, but keep my neon heart,
let every passing season take its shattered part.
Change is the law of living, the rhythm underneath,
yet something softly shining holds its steady, quiet breath.
I cannot stop the turning or the breaking of the day,
but I can walk beside it – and not give myself away.

Outro (spoken / half-sung)

Maybe peace is not to hold the world in place,
but to walk with all its changes, with an open face.
And in the softest hours, when all the noise is gone,
to find that who you truly are is what will carry on.

1. meteff - Artist Statement — Lyrical Version
20.12.2025 20:46
I begin in the threshold where a word is not yet born and silence still remembers its breath. I write to shape what insists on being carried forward — not as ornament, but as revealed truth. My practice moves like inner weather: shifts of memory, tenderness, and the questions that refuse to leave us. Genres are rooms of one house — poems, essays, fragments, genealogies, musical sketches — each a voice in a single resonant chord. Even silence has its essential place in that chord. I attend to the small gestures that disclose identity; to the secret bridges between private life and collective memory; to the quiet architecture of the spirit that needs no ceremony. My aim is language that opens rather than decorates — windows through which readers encounter their own inner sky. Form, conscience and intimacy guide me: introspection keeps me honest; conceptual shape grants the invisible weight; moral sensibility anchors each phrase. My professions — poet, publicist, jurist — lean together: law sharpens clarity, poetry humbles certainty, philosophy teaches listening to what is unsaid. If a single thread unites my work, it is this: to transmute vulnerability into luminous strength and to make silence a place of meaning. I am Lalu Metev — Bulgarian poet, essayist and jurist. I write to preserve what is delicate and essential in the human spirit, to follow traces of memory and dignity, and to find where the personal meets the universal. This is the path I walk; this is the voice I follow; this is the presence I offer.
