🎵 Part I – „House of Abraham
[spoken word, English, deep male voice, slow and expressive]

This piece reflects on holy righteous Abraham,
not only as a biblical patriarch,
but as the living forefather of our own “Avramov” line –
seen theologically, philosophically, existentially, genealogically.

It asks what it means today
to call yourself “of Abraham’s house” –
not just by blood,
but as a partner in a covenant:
trust, testing, hospitality,
and the duty to pass on blessing, not only genes.

We say: we are of Abraham’s house.
Not only genes,
but blessing.

For me Abraham is not only a theme of theology or literature,
but a question of family.
At our table his name is spoken
not as distant myth,
but as memory.
In our house he is honored
as a true forefather of the Avramov clan –
an axis around which
memory, identity, and meaning are arranged.

I do not claim a provable chain of blood
back to the patriarch of Ur.
I simply take seriously Scripture’s double vision:
Abraham as ancestor according to the flesh,
and Abraham as spiritual father
of all who share his faith,
and to whom that faith is counted as righteousness.

In this sense kinship with Abraham is existential, not biological.
It means accepting that your life is shaped by a promise
you do not control,
yet are called to remain faithful to.

Abraham is the man who learns to dwell in uncertainty –
to walk toward “a land that God will show him”
without holding that land in his pocket
as a map and a deed.

To say “we are of Abraham’s house”
is to see your lineage
not as a closed ethnic fate,
but as part of a greater story of exodus –
out of Ur,
out of idols,
out of self‑sufficient towers reaching to heaven.

We say: we are of Abraham’s house.
Not only genes,
but blessing.

🎵 Part II – „Promise and Testing
[spoken word, English, deep male voice, slow and expressive]

The Abrahamic road breaks the safety of the tribe,
and at the same time discovers a new kinship,
founded not on blood,
but on covenant.

Genetics speaks of markers and haplogroups,
of common ancestors in statistical trees.
The Bible speaks of a face, a name, a voice –
of prayer and argument with God,
of intercession for Sodom,
of terror and trust on Mount Moriah.

Where science sees patterns,
Abraham’s life sees a person.
Where science traces the spread of genes,
Scripture speaks of the spread of blessing:
“in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

To think of ourselves as “of Abraham’s house”
is to accept that our story – personal and familial –
will also pass through paradoxical places
where God seems both to give and to take,
to promise and to test.

To be of Abraham
is to refuse to turn God
into a moral vending machine –
to know that He will judge the earth with justice,
and still dare to plead for Sodom,
believing that mercy can stay
the hand of strict justice.

We are of Abraham’s house.
Not only genes,
but blessing.

In a world of DNA tests and genealogy platforms
science can tell us where the body comes from.
Covenant with Abraham asks a deeper question:
in what story does the soul live?

And if we dare to say
that our house is Abraham’s,
the answer is not exhausted by the laboratory.
It is revealed in how we learn
to stand before God –
against all hope,
in hope believing.

1. meteff - Artist Statement — Lyrical Version
30.01 02:31
I begin in the threshold where a word is not yet born and silence still remembers its breath. I write to shape what insists on being carried forward — not as ornament, but as revealed truth. My practice moves like inner weather: shifts of memory, tenderness, and the questions that refuse to leave us. Genres are rooms of one house — poems, essays, fragments, genealogies, musical sketches — each a voice in a single resonant chord. Even silence has its essential place in that chord. I attend to the small gestures that disclose identity; to the secret bridges between private life and collective memory; to the quiet architecture of the spirit that needs no ceremony. My aim is language that opens rather than decorates — windows through which readers encounter their own inner sky. Form, conscience and intimacy guide me: introspection keeps me honest; conceptual shape grants the invisible weight; moral sensibility anchors each phrase. My professions — poet, publicist, jurist — lean together: law sharpens clarity, poetry humbles certainty, philosophy teaches listening to what is unsaid. If a single thread unites my work, it is this: to transmute vulnerability into luminous strength and to make silence a place of meaning. I am Lalu Metev — Bulgarian poet, essayist and jurist. I write to preserve what is delicate and essential in the human spirit, to follow traces of memory and dignity, and to find where the personal meets the universal. This is the path I walk; this is the voice I follow; this is the presence I offer.
