🎵 I Should Have Turned Away –

„I Should Have Turned Away“ не е просто любовна песен.

*„Shadows move across the bedroom wall,
a quiet hour when every mask can fall.“*

*„I followed my hands and forgot my head,
drowned out every word my conscience said.“*

*„I should have turned away tonight…
before my heart believed the lie instead.“*

*„On paper it’s simple, just a name in a file,
another story dressed in charm and in style.“*

*„Played the fantasy one too many times,
now I wear the weight of these unspoken crimes.“*

*„It was a long, hot night,
you made it easy, you made it feel right.
But when the morning burned the veil away,
I saw the price that I’m condemned to pay.“*

*„Now the silence knows what I can’t confess,
and I stand alone inside this loneliness.“*

„before I let this hunger be my guide.“

🎵 I Should Have Turned Away – Lalu Metev

[Intro]
(Soft atmospheric synth pads, distant heartbeat kick,
melancholic electric guitar motif slowly fading in.)

[Verse 1]
Shadows move across the bedroom wall,
a quiet hour when every mask can fall.
I say I’ll walk away, I swear I’ll fight,
but I lose ground on this long, breathless night.
Her journal waits by the bedside glow,
the room is dim, but the flame says, “Go”.

[Pre-Chorus]
(Drums start to build, gentle synth arpeggio climbing.)

I followed my hands and forgot my head,
drowned out every word my conscience said.
Now there’s no simple path out of this,
caught in the echo of a borrowed bliss.

[Chorus]
(Full drums, deep analog bass, layered synths.)

And I… I should have turned away tonight,
instead of chasing every word you said.
I should have turned away tonight,
before my heart believed the lie instead.

It wasn’t just your touch, it wasn’t just a kiss,
it was the ache beneath the promise and the abyss.
I should have turned away…
I should have turned away…

[Verse 2]
(Mid-tempo groove, warmer guitar, subtle Rhodes.)

On paper it’s simple, just a name in a file,
another story dressed in charm and in style.
Loving by proxy, all taking, no give,
a borrowed dream I never had the right to live.
Played the fantasy one too many times,
now I wear the weight of these unspoken crimes.

[Pre-Chorus]
(Energy rises, guitar lines grow more expressive.)

I trusted the moment, ignored my ground,
replaying every phrase, every softened sound.
Now there’s no turning back from this,
I’ve bound myself inside a faithless kiss.

[Chorus]
(Emotion peaks, backing vocals echo key lines.)

And I… I should have turned away tonight,
instead of clinging to the things you said.
I should have turned away tonight,
before my soul fell where my body led.

It wasn’t just your eyes, it wasn’t just the skin,
it was the void inside that begged to let you in.
I should have turned away…
I should have turned away…

[Guitar Solo]
(Soaring, melodic solo – 80s-inspired tone,
weaving through the chord progression like a cry.)

[Bridge]
(Arrangement strips down to piano, soft pads, intimate vocal.)

It was a long, hot night,
you made it easy, you made it feel right.
But when the morning burned the veil away,
I saw the price that I’m condemned to pay.

Now the silence knows what I can’t confess,
and I stand alone inside this loneliness.

[Final Chorus]
(Key change, maximum emotional intensity, choir-like backing harmonies.)

And I… I should have turned away tonight,
instead of hiding from the truth inside.
I should have turned away tonight,
before I let this hunger be my guide.

It wasn’t just your voice, it wasn’t just the bliss,
it was the part of me that’s starving in the abyss.
I should have turned away…
I should have turned away…

[Outro]
(Fading synth riffs, reverb-heavy guitar, echoing vocal fragments.)

I should have turned away…
I should have turned away…
From your arms that night…

(Fade out on a sustained, shimmering synth chord.)

I begin in the threshold where a word is not yet born and silence still remembers its breath. I write to shape what insists on being carried forward — not as ornament, but as revealed truth. My practice moves like inner weather: shifts of memory, tenderness, and the questions that refuse to leave us. Genres are rooms of one house — poems, essays, fragments, genealogies, musical sketches — each a voice in a single resonant chord. Even silence has its essential place in that chord. I attend to the small gestures that disclose identity; to the secret bridges between private life and collective memory; to the quiet architecture of the spirit that needs no ceremony. My aim is language that opens rather than decorates — windows through which readers encounter their own inner sky. Form, conscience and intimacy guide me: introspection keeps me honest; conceptual shape grants the invisible weight; moral sensibility anchors each phrase. My professions — poet, publicist, jurist — lean together: law sharpens clarity, poetry humbles certainty, philosophy teaches listening to what is unsaid. If a single thread unites my work, it is this: to transmute vulnerability into luminous strength and to make silence a place of meaning. I am Lalu Metev — Bulgarian poet, essayist and jurist. I write to preserve what is delicate and essential in the human spirit, to follow traces of memory and dignity, and to find where the personal meets the universal. This is the path I walk; this is the voice I follow; this is the presence I offer.

„I Should Have Turned Away“ е полунощна нео-соул / art-rock балада за онзи миг, в който желанието заглушава съвестта, а после оставя душата да плаща цената.
